Apt Resources is seeking an experienced Agriculture Supervisor to join our client's dynamic team at a leading agricultural operation in Abu Dhabi. As the Agriculture Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the farm, ensuring that all agricultural practices are implemented efficiently and effectively. This role involves managing staff, monitoring crop health, and maintaining equipment, while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assigns and supervises duties such as soil tilling, planting, irrigation, crop storage, and machinery maintenance, including allocating fields or rows to workers.
  • Determines manpower requirements, schedules daily activities, and ensures tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Monitors workers to identify unsafe or inefficient practices, taking corrective action to resolve issues.
  • Addresses grievances and mediates disputes to maintain a harmonious working environment.
  • Operates farm machinery, including trucks and tractors, for transportation and fieldwork.
  • Prepares and purchases farm supplies such as insecticides, machine parts, lubricants, and tools as requested by the assistant supervisor.
  • Collaborates with the manager to assess weather and soil conditions for effective planning.
  • Reviews and verifies reports on timekeeping, payroll, production, crop yield, farm conditions, and equipment breakdowns.
  • Oversees and assists in the repair, adjustment, and maintenance of farm machinery and equipment.
  • Trains workers in fieldwork techniques, safety procedures, and identifying crop diseases and pest infestations.
  • Inspects crops and fields to determine growth stage, maturity, and expected yield.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in agricultural supervision or farm management.
  • Strong knowledge of crop production, pest management, and farm equipment.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and handle outdoor conditions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in farm management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in agriculture.
