Full job description ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF INDUSTRIAL AND FOOD BIOTECHNOLOGY CATEGORY Faculty Members College of Sciences COLLEGE Sciences DEPARTMENT Applied Biology JOB PURPOSE The Department of Applied Biology at UoS has a vacant position at the assistant professor level in the field of Industrial & Food Biotechnology starting Fall 2025. The candidate should have a Ph.D. from a reputable academic institution in Biotechnology (Industrial/Food/Pharmaceutical) and a minimum of two years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level. The candidates should have a strong research publication record in peer-reviewed journals. Successful candidates are expected to contribute effectively to teaching different biotechnology courses such as Biotechnology and Food Analysis, Industrial Biotechnology, Protein Biochemistry and Engineering, Bioreactors, Fermentation Technology, Microbial Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, as well as Basic Biotechnology and General Biology, and to contribute effectively to the fourth-year graduation projects. MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES & EXPECTATIONS Contribute effectively to carry out teaching of diverse theoretical and practical biology/biotechnology courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels including general biology/tissue culture/industrial biotechnology/food biotechnology/molecular biology courses. Conduct high quality research work in the biotechnology area & contribute effectively to build research groups in biotechnology. Recruit external and internal research funds. Provide academic and professional advising to students. Contribute to curriculum and program development. Contribute in the academic assessment processes. Contribute to community services. REQUIRED SKILLS Ph. D in Industrial & Food Biotechnology a from a university recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education in the UAE, with a good track publication record in top journals. Teaching experience at University level. Proven record of publications. Professionalism in biotechnology, fermentation, and food analysis. Postdoctoral research experience is an excess. Research publications in the fields of fermentation, industrial biotechnology, and food analysis.
