Job Title: Certified Medical Coder – Inpatient (Remote) Location: Bronx, NY 10461 Contract Duration: 13+ Weeks (Possible Extension) Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM Hours: 35 hrs/week Pay Rate: $38/hour Position Overview "Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled Certified Medical Coder specializing in inpatient coding for an acute care setting. The ideal candidate will be proficient with EPIC, 3M, and related coding applications, with a strong understanding of federal billing regulations, medical terminology, and documentation requirements. Key Responsibilities • Perform accurate inpatient medical coding within an acute care environment. • Review and interpret clinical documentation to assign appropriate ICD and CPT codes. • Apply current coding guidelines, payer regulations, and federal billing standards. • Utilize EPIC, 3M, and encoder software to complete coding tasks efficiently. • Research and resolve coding issues; provide support or training when needed. • Ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely completion of assigned coding cases. • Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to address coding queries. • Meet department productivity and quality benchmarks. Required Qualifications • Certification Required: CCS (mandatory). • Additional acceptable certifications: AHIMA, RHIA, RHIT, CCP. • Proficient with EPIC and 3M coding systems. • Experience with inpatient and Emergency Department (ED) coding. • Strong computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, ICD-9-CM, CPT-4, and encoder tools. • Solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, and medical terminology. • Ability to research complex coding topics and assist with coder development.
